A wonderful example of midcentury modern tableware, this vintage Royal Doulton covered vegetable dish has a green and tan flower pattern along the inside of the serving bowl rim, and outside of the lid's rim. The dark green handle on the lid has a sleek 1960s modern simplicity. These round covered dishes are in the Royal Doulton Samarra pattern (T.C. 1039), and were made in England from 1968 – 1979. On the bottom of these serving bowls is the Royal Doulton maker's mark and reads, "English Translucent China" with the Samarra pattern name. Translucent china is a type of bone china.
Not only are these two covered serving dishes wonderful for Mid-century Modern style fans, having lids will keep foods warm when entertaining.
