Manfred Frey Signed Kaiser Vase: Mid-Century Modern Op Art Bisque

These matching vases are sold individually. At 10 inch tall, these vases are mid-century modern and minimalist in design. Both vases are signed by the artist Manfred Frey for the porcelain company AK Kaiser in Germany. These vases have a side ribbed relief and drop shape design which follows the "Op Art" movement (Optical Art is characterized by the use of straight or curved lines for a motion effect). While the outside of each vase is in a matte white bisque, the inside is in a gloss white glaze to allow for liquid. Both of these tall vases have the blue AK Kaiser West Germany maker's mark, M. Frey signature, and the mold numbers 7393/3. These vases date to 1970 – 1990 based on the maker's mark.
