This vintage Italian porcelain gravy boat or sauce boat was made by the world-renowned porcelain manufacturer Richard Ginori in 1980. Featuring the timeless Bianco White pattern in the elegant Vecchio Ginori shape, the double-spouted sauce boat is affixed to a matching underplate. Blending refined aesthetics with functional design, the surface is richly textured with the signature basketweave relief and fluted lines, while the curved handles and scalloped edges enhance its graceful silhouette. The underside is stamped with the classic Richard Ginori sunburst mark, along with “Made in Italy” and the factory code “M. 4.”
The sunburst maker’s mark used on this piece was in production during the postwar period through the 1980s and is consistent with export porcelain from this era. Founded in 1735 near Florence, Richard Ginori has long been one of Italy’s most revered porcelain manufacturers, known for elevating utilitarian forms into enduring examples of Italian design. This sauce boat is ideal for collectors of fine porcelain or as a sophisticated serving piece for holidays, weddings, or formal gatherings.
