Vintage Limoges Porcelain Tureen: Jean Boyer Laurel Pattern, Gold Accents

This elegant white porcelain covered vegetable dish is in the Laurel pattern by Jean Boyer in Limoges France, produced between 1925 and the mid-1930s. An oval serving piece which features a gold encrusted laurel leaf motif circling the rim of both the lid and dish, with rich gold accents on the lid handle, side handles, and base. The underside bears the green “Limoges France” mark along with Jean Boyer’s gold overglaze backstamp, identifying it as a higher-end decorative piece from his 1920s–30s production period.

Jean Boyer was a respected decorator and distributor in Limoges, France, known for working with fine porcelain blanks from top manufacturers. Pieces marked with his gold overglaze stamp—like this one—were often reserved for premium designs or special-order sets. This covered vegetable dish serves beautifully as a functional centerpiece for formal dining or as a collectible addition to a French porcelain collection. Condition: A hairline crack on one side of dish (please see last two photos ). Light wear on handles, otherwise gold is completely intact. No chips, stains, crazing, or fading.
