A rare find! This vintage ceramic ginger jar was made by Holland Mold in 1977 and features hand-painted scenes inspired by 19th-century Currier & Ives lithographs. Standing 6.75 inches tall, the high-gloss sky blue glaze is adorned with two distinct outdoor scenes: "Salmon Fishing" and "Hunting for Deer," both clearly labeled beneath the artwork. The base is impressed with “Holland Mold” and the mold number “824,” while the inside of the lid is marked “6 19 77” in gold, indicating the date it was finished—June 19, 1977.
Holland Mold was a prominent American ceramics company known for producing high-quality plaster molds from the 1940s through the 1990s, allowing artists and home hobbyists to create hand-finished decorative ware. The illustrations on this jar are direct homages to iconic Currier & Ives prints, making this piece especially appealing to collectors of Americana and rustic decor. Ideal for display in a cabin, lodge-style setting, or given as a thoughtful gift to a history enthusiast, outdoorsman, or folk art collector.
