Vintage Incolay Stone Opera Plates – Madame Butterfly & Tristan and Isolde

This is two collectible vintage plates from Incolay Studios’ Love Themes from the Grand Opera series, each is a cameo carving crafted in Sapphire Incolay Stone by artist Roger Akers. These limited edition 8.75" plates were released between 1990–1991 and are available individually with your choice of:

1. Madame Butterfly (2nd in the series), inspired by Puccini’s tragic opera and portraying the emotional farewell between Cio-Cio-San and Pinkerton.
2. Tristan and Isolde (5th in the series), based on Wagner’s legendary lovers, depicted in a tender moment of medieval romance and fateful destiny.

Each plate is individually numbered on the back, includes a molded descriptive narrative, and comes in its original fitted Incolay Studios box. The original certificate of authenticity is not present.

Founded in California, Incolay Studios developed a unique technique blending natural stone to create layered relief scenes, often inspired by classical, romantic, and historical subjects. These opera-themed plates are excellent examples of the studio’s craftsmanship, merging decorative art with storytelling. Suitable for display as wall art with a hole on the back for hanging.
