This is a set of two vintage hand painted ceramic wall plates, both marked “Made in Italy” and dating to the 1960s–1970s. Each square plate measures 7.5 inches wide and features scalloped edges with green trim. One plate depicts a bunch of bright yellow grapes with green leaves, while the other shows a ripe yellow banana alongside two yellow-green figs, all painted in expressive, freehand brushstrokes on a glossy white ground. The impressed “Made in Italy” mark on the reverse is characteristic of mid-century Italian ceramics, prior to the widespread use of artist signatures and detailed factory backstamps in later decades.
These plates represent Italy’s postwar tradition of decorative export pottery—particularly wall art and kitchenware produced for the American and European markets. A cheerful addition to any vintage kitchen or dining area, they also appeal to collectors of Italian ceramics, mid-century wall décor, or fruit-themed wall art.
