Blue Ridge Quaker Apple Plates: 1940s Folk Art Luncheon Plates, Set of 4

This charming set of four 9.25-inch luncheon plates by Blue Ridge Southern Pottery is in the "Apple Trio" pattern from the 1940s based on the maker's mark. In 1953 the pattern was renamed to “Quaker Apple” as part of a 1953 promotional collaboration with Quaker Oats. In the Candlewick Edge shape, these plates were hand-painted underglaze featuring two vibrant red apples with lush green leaves, and framed with a delicate green trim. Since these are hand-painted, there are variations on the shades of red in the apples as you'll see in the photos.

The back of each plate bears the iconic 1940s "Blue Ridge Hand Painted-Underglaze" maker’s mark along with the “12H” production code. These plates would make a thoughtful addition to a Blue Ridge collection, a delightful gift for lovers of folk art American ceramics, or a unique touch to a farmhouse-style table setting.
