Antique Meito Porcelain Condiment Set: Hand-Painted Floral Bowl, Saucer, Spoon

This beautiful, hand painted Meito condiment set was crafted in Japan between 1921 – 1934. The set includes a footed condiment bowl, a saucer/under plate, and a spoon/ladle. Made of bright white porcelain, the set has a rare decorative pattern of beautiful light blue banding with a sprig of blue and white flowers. Each piece has gold trim which is completely in tact.

Meito china was founded in 1908 by Kotero Asukai, a former Nortike employee. Meito means "fine sword" or "excellent sword" in Japanese. The name is a nod to the company's headquarters in Nagoya, Japan, a city known for its shrine of the sacred sword that is one of Japan's crown jewels.
