Vintage Limoges Porcelain Dish: CH Field Haviland, Meissen Floral Adaptation

This beautiful 9-inch porcelain decorative dish was made by CH Field Haviland in Limoges, France. Commissioned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this floral Haviland Limoges dish pays homage to the artistry of Meissen porcelain. Hand painted in the late 20th century, this oval dish features vibrant floral and butterfly motifs and a deep pink double rim that complements the floral color palette. The oval shape has a charming scalloped edge.

Aside from the CH Field Haviland Limoges France maker's mark, the back of the piece includes the prestigious rare mark, "LABEL DE QUALITE." The back is also marked with the details of its adaptation, further enhancing its collectible and reads, "Design adapted from a Meissen Plate in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art." Meissen began in 1708 and was Europe's first manufacturer of fine porcelain.
