WM Guerin & Co Limoges France 1900 – 1932
This set of 4 antique 6.25 inch porcelain plates were made by Wm. Guerin & Co in Limoges, France circa 1900–1932. Each bread & butter or desert plate features a hand-painted Art Nouveau border of green clover leaves, and orange (tan) scrollwork in a diamond motif. All are elegantly trimmed in and gold. Marked on the reverse with both the green underglaze “WG & Co. Limoges France” and the red overglaze “Wm. Guerin & Co.” decorating stamp, confirming both origin and in-house decoration.
William Guerin was a prominent Limoges porcelain manufacturer active between the late 19th and early 20th century. These plates exemplify the period’s emphasis on fine hand-painted tableware for the European and American markets. Ideal for collectors of Limoges, Francophiles, and fans of the Art Nouveau period.
