Vintage Cookson Pottery Planter: Yellow & Blue Floral, Mid-Century Collectible

This vintage Cookson Pottery planter has the mold number C-4 and was crafted in Roseville, Ohio during the late 1940s to early 1950s. Oval in shape, the slip mold features a raised floral design and scalloped rim. This piece was hand glazed with yellow and blue on the flowers and accented with green on the raised leaves. The insidde has a cream glazed finish.

Cookson Pottery operated from 1945 to 1995 and is known for small-batch molded ceramics with hand-applied glazes. This piece, marked “COOKSON C-4” on the base, is ideal for use as a low planter, centerpiece bowl, or decorative shelf accent. This piece exemplifies mid-century American art pottery produced in the tradition of regional Ohio makers like Hull and McCoy.
