This vintage 16-inch hand-painted majolica platter was made in Portugal exclusively for Neuwirth, a company known for commissioning fine ceramic pieces. The platter features a charming raised basketweave texture and a beautifully sculpted fruit motif at each end, with plums, blackberries, and berries nestled among leafy greens. Soft pink rope-like detailing along the edges adds a delicate finishing touch. The vibrant glaze enhances the intricate relief design, characteristic of Portuguese majolica craftsmanship.
Marked on the underside with an original silver foil label reading "Made in Portugal exclusively for Neuwirth", along with a "Hand Painted" sticker, this platter is a testament to quality portugese ceramic artistry. Likely produced in the mid-to-late 20th century, it remains in excellent vintage condition, making it both a collectible and functional serving piece. Perfect for displaying fresh fruit, serving appetizers, or as a statement centerpiece.
Condition: Excellent – no chips, cracks, stains, crazing, or fading. Small green paint mark on the backside (see last photo). Feel free to message me if you have additional questions or would like more photos.
