Vintage Hull Woodland Vase 108: American Art Pottery, Mid-Century Decor

This vintage Hull Woodland Suspended Vase #108 was produced between 1949 and 1952 by the Hull Pottery Company of Crooksville, Ohio. Measuring 8 inches tall, this striking vase features Hull’s signature Woodland color palette, blending rich burgundy, golden amber, and deep green glazes in a high-gloss finish. The scalloped flared rim and dramatic "suspended" design, supported by ornately sculpted feet, make this a standout piece of mid-century American art pottery.

The Woodland line was originally introduced with a matte glaze, but following a factory fire in 1950, Hull transitioned to the glossy majolica-style finishes, as seen in this vase. The sculptural elements and nature-inspired hues reflect the era’s appreciation for organic forms and hand-finished craftsmanship. This piece is a beautiful example of Hull Pottery’s artistry and is highly collectible.
