This vintage Rookwood Pottery vase has a beautiful matte ivory glaze, and is decorated with butterflies and florals. Made in 1945, the vase has a bulbous shape and is is 5 inches in height. Under the vase is the Rookwood maker's mark, the year it was made (XLV for 1945), and the shape number 6457.
Rookwood Pottery was first founded in 1880 by Maria Longworth-Nichols. Rookwood quickly became a world-renowned ceramics studio gaining talented artists from all over the world. Rookwood has an impressive history of winning awards at several international exhibitions and world’s fairs; including the 1893 Columbian Exposition of Chicago, and the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris The Rookwood Pottery Company is still in operation and is located in Cincinnati, Ohio.
