This decorative plate was made by Alfred Meakin in Staffordshire England during the 1970s. The plate is titled, "THE FRIENDSHIP OF SALEM" and depicts four scenes of historic ships used for Chinese Export to America. This plate is part of Meakin's Fair Winds line which has been retired. This dinner size plate is decorated with brown transferware, or copper engravings, as mentioned on the back. The back of the plate also includes the Meakin maker's mark.
Condition: Minor scuff marks on the back of plate (please see last photo). Otherwise no chips, cracks, stains, crazing, or fading. Feel free to message me if you have additional questions or would like more photos.
Measurements: 10 5/8"W x 1"D
Packing Note – all items are meticulously wrapped in white tissue paper and bubble wrap, then securely protected in white shipping paper.
