This mid century blue and white porcelain bowl was made in Portugal by Vista Alegre and is in excellent condition. Surrounded with a delicate, hand painted floral design, this 8-inch wide bowl is made of a soft blue hue porcelain, which complements the blue floral design. The intricate floral painting is on both the inside and outside of the bowl. Gold banding decorates the inside rim, and the foot of the bowl. Subtle gold accenting is found on the bowl's bottom floral design. The hand painting color on the inside is a blue-gray tone compared to the outside navy color. This diversity in color palate adds to the lovely handcrafted nature of this bowl.
Based on the Vista Alegre maker's mark on the the underside, this Portuguese decorative bowl was made between 1947 -1968. A wonderful example of the detailed craftsmanship found in vintage Vista Alegre, this is an ideal gift for vintage pottery collectors, and lovers of Portuguese ceramics.
